ATLANTA – The Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA), the preeminent non-varsity league in the country, is pleased to announce that for the sixth year, USA Lacrosse is sponsoring the MCLA Player of the Month in 2022.

The award will be presented to an MCLA student-athlete in each division who has stood out with his overall on-field performance.

"USA Lacrosse is committed to sponsoring this award that will recognize the efforts of the MCLA's best student-athletes,” said Rick Lake, senior manager of the men’s game at USA Lacrosse. “We wish all teams good luck for the 2022 season."

The USA Lacrosse MCLA Player of the Month will be awarded four times during the season in each division, starting in February and running through May. The recipient of the honor will receive a free one-year membership to USA Lacrosse, a $55 value, in addition to national recognition.

“Earning monthly recognition from the national governing body of our sport is a tremendous honor for our student-athletes and we’re thankful USA Lacrosse is on board again this spring,” said MCLA president Ken Lovic. “USA Lacrosse has always been very supportive of the MCLA and we’re pleased that will continue into 2022.”

The award will be based on statistical prowess, opponent strength and team success, along with other factors, and will be released shortly after the end of the month.

Coaches may submit their nominations by the end of the month to [email protected] Only nominations from coaches will be considered.
