DENVER – Fresh off its win at the 2021 MCLA Invitational Tournament, Brigham Young has been selected as the favorite in Division I of the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference (RMLC), according to the preseason coaches poll.
The Cougars grabbed four of the five first-place votes to settle in well clear of the field.
Sitting in the second chair, seven points behind BYU, is Colorado. The Buffaloes were awarded the remaining first-place vote even though they weren’t able to compete last spring.
Utah Valley, which also participated in the MCLA Invitational, sits in third, just two points behind Colorado.
Colorado State and Texas round out the poll.
Despite having just five teams, RMLC Division I will have an automatic qualifying berth to the 2022 MCLA National Championship presented by New Balance. The conference members will also be eligible for at-large selection.
