FAU’s Romano Grabs Warrior Accolades
ATLANTA – After sparking Florida Atlantic to a clutch road victory over a ranked team, senior Kyle Romano has been named the MCLA Division II Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 6.
The Owls made the trip from Boca Raton to Jacksonville to faceoff against No. 22 North Florida, and thanks to Romano, the game was over quickly in favor of No. 16 Florida Atlantic.
Romano buried the first two goals of the game on his first two shots, finishing with four goals, three assists and two ground balls in just three quarters of the Owls’ 18-3 whitewash of the Ospreys.
"Kyle was an instrumental part of our offense who was able to create opportunities for the whole team through his dodging abilities and great vision,” said Florida Atlantic coach Stavros Neocleous.
“In addition to being a leader with his play, Kyle is one of the unquestioned emotional leaders of the team. Hats off to Kyle for his performance.”
For earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Boyd will receive a Warrior Burn XP-O – a $100 value – for his efforts. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
