Clemson’s Tariche Player of Week
ATLANTA – After spurring Clemson to a pair of ranked victories this weekend, junior midfielder Sean Tariche has been named the MCLA Division I Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 27.
The Tigers headed to No. 13 Georgia on Friday night and, backed by four goals and an assist by the Garden City, N.Y., native, Clemson rolled the Bulldogs, 18-12.
Clemson headed home on Saturday to host No. 3 Georgia Tech and Tariche was again up for the task. He finished with four goals and two assists as the Tigers stunned the Yellow Jackets, 15-8.
For the week, Tariche ended with eight goals and three assists along with five ground balls.
“Sean’s a throw-back middie,” said Clemson coach Buff Grubb. “He can play both ends of the field, but he helps us more on the offensive end. He’s equally reliable shooting outside or sticking it inside off a cut.
“He’s been pretty quiet early on this season, but heading into this weekend I told him we needed points from him since we were missing some starters and he responded in spades. Eight goals and three helpers versus two ranked teams. You can’t ask for more.”
For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Tariche will receive a Warrior Burn XP-O – a $100 value – for his efforts. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
