CHASKA, Minn. – In a hugely exciting game, Minnesota downed Michigan State in the Upper Midwest Lacrosse Conference (UMLC) Division I championship game, 14-13, in double overtime.

With the victory, the Golden Gophers (17-0) secure an automatic bid to the 2022 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance, which will be held in Round Rock, Texas, from May 9-14.

Minnesota appeared to be ready to take down the title in regulation, but Michigan State (9-5) struck with just two seconds left to send the game into extra time. Freshman Will Harris was credited with the game-winner.

This will be the Golden Gophers third trip to nationals and the second-consecutive bid as they qualified for the 2019 tournament in Salt Lake City.
