RICHMOND, Va. – After winning the league and pulling off the biggest upset in the history of the MCLA tournament, UNC-Charlotte is the preseason favorite to win the Atlantic Lacrosse Conference (ALC) title again in 2023.
Charlotte (12-2), which outscored its ALC tournament competition, 42-9, before stunning No. 2 seed College of Idaho in Round Rock, gobbled up eight of the nine first-place votes in the preseason poll.
Wake Forest (6-3), which grabbed the final remaining first-place nod, sits in the second chair.
Despite the Chanticleers bouncing Wake Forest in the ALC semifinals last year, Coastal Carolina (5-5) sits at No. 3 followed by UNC-Wilmington (2-4) in fourth.
