Texas Tops LSA-I Poll
DALLAS – After testing the waters of another conference, Texas has made its prodigal return to Division I of the Lone Star Alliance (LSA) and has been installed as the 2023 favorite to win the conference, according to the preseason coaches poll.
The Longhorns (8-5), which advanced to the semifinals of the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference (RMLC) last spring, were awarded five first-place votes out of the 10 ballots cast in the poll.
Texas edged out defending LSA conference champ Texas Christian (12-7). The Horned Frogs grabbed four first-place votes to sit five points behind the Longhorns.
Texas A&M (6-9), which lost to TCU in the conference championship game, snagged the final first-place vote to set up shop at No. 3.
LSU (8-5) rounds out the top four of the 12-team league.
