ROUND ROCK, Texas – The Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA), the preeminent non-varsity league in the country, is pleased to release its logo for the 2023 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance.
The event will be held from May 8-13 at the Round Rock (Texas) Multipurpose Complex.
The logo is the creation of graphic designer Matthew Farrell, who is based out of San Diego.
"It was a pleasure being asked to develop and design the MCLA Championships logo for 2023,” said Farrell. “The logo that we landed on takes notes from the Texas-based location, while staying true to MCLA’s spirit using a tropical and fun color scheme.
“The 10-gallon hat was a staple icon from the start and I am thrilled it stayed for the final product. I am excited to see the logo in use during championship weekend, and the logo being worn by the winners of each division.”
The competition in Round Rock will be the MCLA’s fifth championship in the Lone Star state. The 2006 (Plano), 2007 (Frisco) and 2008 (Farmer’s Branch/Irving) were held in the Dallas area. The 2022 nationals were held in Round Rock this past spring.
“Matthew did a great job capturing the Texas spirit with this logo,” said MCLA president Ken Lovic. “The season has just begun, but this is a nice reminder of what we’re all playing for.”
The logo package has been sent to the MCLA Conference Directors. Contact your respective director to receive it.
