MoState’s Hunter Grabs Warrior Award
ATLANTA – After guiding Missouri State to a trio of ranked victories – including a doubleheader sweep on Saturday – Bears’ senior Kyle Hunter is the MCLA Division II Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending March 5.
MoState opened the weekend with a clash against No. 12 North Dakota and thanks to a pair of goals and dime from the Springfield, Mo., product, the Bears took home the 12-10 triumph.
On Saturday, Missouri State ran up against No. 16 Dayton and No. 17 Florida Atlantic in a day-night doubleheader. With a combined seven goals and a dime in the two games, the Bears swept the weekend.
All told, Hunter accumulated nine goals and two dimes in the three wins.
“It all boils down to our four pillars: attitude, effort, example and commitment,” said Missouri State coach Donnie Curran. “That is Missouri State lacrosse. Our young men live by these pillars and this past weekend shows it.”
For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Hunter will receive a Warrior EVO QX-O – a $100 value – for his efforts. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
