April 26th, 2023 General News | Arizona | Arizona State | Auburn | Boise State | Boston College | BYU | Cal Poly | California | Chapman | Colorado | Concordia | Florida | Florida State | Georgia | Georgia Tech | Liberty | Northeastern | Oregon | San Diego State | Simon Fraser | South Carolina | Texas | UC Santa Barbara | Utah Valley | Virginia Tech

ATLANTA – There is a tie atop the MCLA Division I New Balance Weekly Coaches Poll as Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech are knotted up in the final regular season poll of the season.

Georgia Tech (14-3), which just rolled to the SELC championship last weekend, and Virginia Tech (12-2), which has its ALC playoff upcoming, each amassed 647 points. The Yellow Jackets garnered 13 first-place votes while the Hokies snagged nine of their own.

Liberty (12-2), a likely foe for Virginia Tech this weekend in the ALC tournament, checks in at No. 3 bolstered by a lone first-place nod. Florida (12-2), the No. 1 team for the past three weeks, dips to No. 4 after bowing to Georgia Tech in the SELC semifinals. The Gators were still listed atop two ballots.

Georgia (12-2), which also lost in the SELC semifinals to No. 12 South Carolina (8-9), fell to No. 5 this week, followed by Concordia (10-4) at No. 6. Each had a first-place vote.

Southern Methodist (11-4), LSU (10-4) and Colorado State (5-8) were escorted out of the polls and replaced by No. 17 Texas (8-2), No. 24 Oregon (7-4) and No. 25 Auburn (8-7).

The seeding and matchups for the 2023 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance will be released on Sunday evening. The national tournament runs from May 8-13 at the Round Rock (Texas) Multipurpose Complex.
