LSA Tournament Details Announced
DALLAS – The field is set for the Lone Star Alliance (LSA) tournament, which will start this weekend with home site contests and culminate on April 30 at Southern Methodist University.
The winner of the LSA tournaments will receive an automatic berth to the 2023 MCLA National Championships, which will be held at the Round Rock (Texas) Multipurpose Complex from May 8-13.
BRACKETS: DIVISION I | DIVISION II
LSA Division I will open with three quarterfinal contests featuring mostly crossover games from the two subdivisions.
Missouri (9-3) is the top seed out of the North and will entertain the South four seed LSU (10-3) at 6 p.m. on Saturday. North second seed Kansas (9-3) will host South No. 3 Texas A&M on Saturday at 2 p.m.
The South was locked in a five-way tiebreaker, with Texas Christian (6-5) emerging as the top seed based on goal differential among LSA South contests.
Because of a program availability issue, Southern Methodist (10-4), which finished fifth in the South, was flipped into the North to fill the void. The Mustangs will travel to the Horned Frogs on Sunday at 2 p.m.
South No. 2 Texas (8-2) drew Oklahoma (5-8) in a rivalry game. However, after brackets were released on Monday afternoon, the league was informed that Oklahoma has withdrawn from tournament play. The Longhorns will move on to semifinals on April 29 in Dallas.
In Division II, Missouri State (8-2) drew the overall No. 1 seed out of the North and the Bears are slotted into the semifinals on April 29.
The other three semifinalists will emerge from a pair of subdivisional No. 1 vs. No. 3 seed contests between the East and Central, along with a crossover game of the two seeds from the East and Central (bracket below).
Tickets for the semifinals and finals at Southern Methodist are $5 for adults and free for children under 10. The tournament games will be streamed live via Game On Sports Productions.
