Montana’s Curran Earns Warrior Honor
ATLANTA – After leading Montana to an impressive ranked win, Grizzlies junior midfielder Peter Curran is the MCLA Division II Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending April 9.
No. 6 Montana squared off with No. 11 Utah State over the weekend and thanks to the Happy Valley, Ore., native, the Grizzlies rolled to the victory.
Curran finished with two goals, three assists and three ground balls in the 14-5 triumph.
“In a game against No. 11 Utah State, Peter was the most valuable player on the field,” said Montana coach Tucker Sargent. “He is the ultimate team-first guy and was asked to change from attack to midfield about halfway through this season to give us more depth.
“That selflessness showed this past weekend as he controlled the tempo of our offense and made every player around him better over a quality opponent.”
For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Curran will receive a Warrior EVO QX-O – a $100 value – for his efforts. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
