San Marcos Takes SLC-II Title
SAN DIEGO – Cal State San Marcos took an early lead and never relinquished it as the Cougars captured the Southwestern Lacrosse Conference (SLC) Division II title on Sunday at Canyon Hills High School by defeating UC San Diego, 11-7.
With the victory, Cal State San Marcos (14-1) earns an automatic qualifying berth to the 2023 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance, which will take place from May 8-13 at the Round Rock (Texas) Multipurpose Complex. Tickets and live streaming for nationals can be purchased HERE.
San Marcos took a 5-2 lead to start the game and was never threatened as they post their second-straight SLC crown.
The Cougars will find out their matchup this evening when the nationals field is announced. UC San Diego (11-3) will also find out its at-large fate this evening.
