Arizona Seeks Offensive Coordinator
TUCSON, Ariz. -- The University of Arizona men's lacrosse program is accepting resumes for the part-time position of offensive coordinator for the 2023-24 academic year and beyond.
Responsibilities include serving as assistant coach in a highly competitive MCLA Division I men’s lacrosse team. Duties include assisting in all areas of coaching the men’s lacrosse team including, but not limited to:
- Recruiting of high-caliber student-athletes.
- Film review and scouting of opponents.
- Design competent practice plans and drills.
- Monitoring of student-athlete academic progress.
- Conduct and supervise individual player skill development.
- Assist with the preparation and implementation of game strategies.
- Administrative tasks and other duties as assigned by the head coach.
Experience coaching on the offensive side of the ball is required.
Qualifications: Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, prior experience in the MCLA is preferred but not required. Collegiate playing and coaching experience is preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license; some travel will be required.
The University of Arizona is a public land-grant research university in Tucson, Arizona founded in 1885. The men’s lacrosse program is a member of the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) Division I, an association of nine conferences nationwide.
Arizona qualified for the MCLA National Tournament in 2022 and finished the year ranked No. 22 nationally in the final 2023 coaches poll. Arizona competes in the Southwestern Lacrosse Conference (SLC), one of the most competitive leagues in the MCLA. The SLC has produced teams that have played in the MCLA championship game in twelve of the last 14 years, winning four of the last eight.
This is a part-time, 10-month position. Additional income opportunities may be possible through local youth teams, camps and tournaments. Salary: Very Competitive; commensurate with experience.
