Oklahoma Unveils '24 Staff
NORMAN, Okla. -- The Oklahoma men's lacrosse team is pleased to introduce the coaching staff for the upcoming 2024 season.
Mark Purcell -- Head Coach
Purcell grew up in Farmington Hills, Mich., before graduating from Michigan State with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. He attended Washington University in St. Louis, where he earned his MBA.
While at Michigan State, Mark was a four-year letterman in lacrosse and was also appointed as a captain during his junior and senior seasons. Purcell coached lacrosse for four years in the Severna Park (Md.) youth association. He was also the head coach of the Oklahoma’s men’s lacrosse team from 2009-12, building a competitive and playoff Sooner program.
Purcell joined TCU as the head coach in 2015 and earned 2022 Coach of the Year award after leading the Horned Frogs to the Lone Star Alliance conference title.
Andrew Ousley -- Defensive Assistant Coach
Ousley grew up in Edmond, Okla., where he graduated from Deer Creek High School in 2014. He played for the Oklahoma City Knights and was a part of two conference championships.
He was four-year all-conference honoree as a defenseman. Ousley went on to play lacrosse at Oklahoma from 201418, where he was a part of two historic seasons, being the first Oklahoma team to beat Texas, Texas A&M, SMU and Texas State. Ousley received a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a B.S. in Mortuary Science from the University of Central Oklahoma.
Hunter Crutsinger -- Offensive Assistant Coach
Crutsinger grew up in Edmond, Okla., before graduated from Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. While at OU, Crutsinger was a four-year letterman.
After OU, he moved to Austin, where he was the coaching director for Cedar Ridge youth lacrosse and head coach of the middle school team. After moving back to Oklahoma Crutsinger was also the head coach for the Oklahoma men's lacrosse program from 2020-22.
Nick Johnston -- Defensive Assistant Coach
Johnston was born in Denver and attended Oklahoma from 2015-19. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degrees in Management Information Systems and Supply Chain Management. Johnston is coaching youth lacrosse in Oklahoma, ranging from second grade to seniors in high school. Nick played for the Sooners all four years and was a two-time captain, the LSA Player of the Year and two-time Goalie of the Year.
Mason Moore -- Offensive Assistant Coach
Moore was born in Houston and attended OU from 2011-16. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and is currently is a partner with UPS Operations. Moore played from 2011-15 and was a three-captain for the Sooners.
Colin Senger -- Team President
Senger, a rising junior LSM, is Oklahoma's team president. He hails from Yarmouth, Maine, where he played lacrosse at Yarmouth High School. He is a marketing major. He was the secretary last year for the team and team captain.
