ATLANTA – The Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) has named PEARL X Optic Yellow ball as the official ball of the MCLA. PEARL will continue to sponsor the ‘Goalie of the Week’ again this season.

Manufactured in the United States, the first PEARL lacrosse ball was developed in 2015 by Guardian Innovations and is made from an elastomeric material. This material made PEARL X the first to market ‘greaseless’ premium lacrosse ball.

“We're excited the MCLA is the first league to mandate the Optic Yellow PEARL X balls for the upcoming season and bring the highest quality lacrosse balls to their athletes,” said Mike Crawford, Vice President of Sales of PEARL and Guardian Sports. "We also know the hard work goalies put into the game and want to recognize them for their outstanding performances."

The relationship between the MCLA and PEARL spans back to 2018. While the ball has served as the official ball of the MCLA previously, this season will be the first where the ball is mandated for all games.

“This seems like the most natural next step for us in regards to PEARL,” said MCLA President Ken Lovic. “We feel confident this move will help in providing an amazing game day experience for all of our teams this year and beyond.”

For PEARL’s “Goalie of the Week” sponsorship, winners will receive a branded swag bag, lacrosse balls and other merchandise. For more information on PEARL lacrosse balls, please visit guardiansports.com.
