ATLANTA- Mason Quick and Trevor Shoopman have been named the Lacrosse Specialties March MCLA Player of the Month for Division I and Division II respectively.

Shoopman, a freshman from Lake Stevens, Washington, led the College of Idaho with 27 points in five games during the month of March.  The Yotes were undefeated in the month rising to #3 in the MCLA New Balance Coaches Poll. Shoopman averaged 5.4 points per game.

College of Idaho head coach Drake O’Neill said, “Trevor is a true student of the game and it has paid dividends for him during the start of his freshman campaign. From late night shooting sessions to always watching film, he puts in the work on and off the field. Throughout this past month, he has shown he can do just about anything from behind the back finishes to riding hard. He is a Swiss army knife of an attackman. Trevor has made a tremendous impact within our offense and our entire program throughout the first half of the season.”

Quick led Brigham Young to  a 5-0 record in March as well including a 3-0 record in Knoxville against Auburn, Liberty, and Tennessee and a consistent #2 ranking.  The Draper, Utah native totaled 36 points in the Cougars five games for an average of 7.2 points per game.  Quick notched 13 points in the Cougars game against Boise State.

Brigham Young head coach Matt Schneck praised Quick saying, “Mason Quick is an incredible, well-rounded, intelligent lacrosse player.  He has been a huge addition to our team this year and immediately stepped into our system, making a significant contribution.   He is a gritty and super tough player who leads by effort and example and understands how to work effectively with his teammates.  I have no doubt he will continue to lead on and off the field and demonstrate why he is one of the best in the country.”

Congratulations to Quick and Shoopman on being named Lacrosse Specialties Player of the Month for the month of March.  For their efforts they will receive a personal plaque compliments of Lacrosse Specialties, the preferred awards provider of the MCLA.
