WINSTON-SALEM, NC- The University of Tennessee has been tabbed as the narrow favorite to win the Atlantic Lacrosse Conference (ALC) Division I title, according to the 2025 preseason coaches poll. The Volunteers edged out the reigning MCLA Division I National Champions, Liberty University, by a single point in a tightly contested vote.

The poll showcases the impressive depth at the top of the conference, which sent three teams to the MCLA National Tournament last season. Tennessee gathered 74 total points and three first-place votes to claim the top spot.

Liberty, fresh off a 2025 season that saw them win both the ALC championship and the MCLA National Championship, landed at the #2 spot with 73 points. Notably, the Flames secured the most first-place votes with five.

Virginia Tech, which finished last season ranked #16 nationally, slots in at #3 with 68 points and the remaining first-place vote, solidifying a clear top tier in the conference. The top three teams were all nationally ranked to end 2025, with Tennessee finishing at #10.

James Madison and Clemson round out the top five, setting the stage for another highly competitive season in the ALC.
