Coaches Tab Kennesaw in SELC D-II
ATLANTA -- A year after making its first trip to the MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour, Kennesaw State has been deemed to be the team to beat in the SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference's Division II in 2016, according to the preseason coaches poll. The Owls went 14-3 last spring, losing to eventual national champion Dayton in the first round of nationals.
Palm Beach Atlantic has been slotted in the second chair, eight points ahead of divisional rival -- and nemesis -- Florida Gulf Coast. SCAD rounds out the top four squads in the 19-team league.
In divisional voting, St. Andrews is expected to top the Northwest ahead of SCAD while UNC-Charlotte gets the nod in the Northeast over Wake Forest. Unlike the overall poll, Florida Gulf Coast is actually the choice in the Southeast over PBA. Kennesaw leads the Southwest, followed by Reinhardt.
