CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – With a game time temperature of 35 degrees, No. 7 Boston College built a 12-1 lead on its way to defeating Rhode Island, 13-3, on Sunday afternoon.
Freshman Lawson Pisani netted four goals and senior co-captain John Gosstola added three goals and two assists to pace the Boston College offense. BC methodically assembled a 7-0 halftime lead, creating several transition goals as a result of strong team defense.
Boston College’s goalie by committee recorded 14 saves on the day while faceoff specialists TJ Zegarelli, Griffin Carney and Jack Kessler combined to go 16-for-19 (84%) from the X.
BC (4-2, 1-0) travels to Connecticut on April 2 while URI (3-3, 0-1) faces New Haven on Friday, March 25.
