Chapman Strengthens Poll Lead
ATLANTA – Chapman needed overtime to subdue Colorado on Sunday, but that win was enough for the Panthers to expand their lead atop the Under Armour MCLA Division I Coaches Poll, which was released on Wednesday.
The Panthers were just two points clear of Georgia Tech two weeks ago, but the margin ballooned to 10 last week and now is up to 20 points, with Chapman hoarding 22 of the 27 total first place votes. The Yellow Jackets are still 45 points clear of third place Brigham Young, however.
Colorado and Cal Poly round out the Top 5, while there are no new faces in the Top 10.
Florida State reenters the poll, throwing Texas State out of the club. The Seminoles beat the then-No. 20 Bobcats, 15-4, on Monday.
