Lourdes Falls to Top-Ranked Dayton
DAYTON, Ohio -- No. 25 Lourdes wrapped up its season-opening four-game road trip on Wednesday evening, suffering a 15-9 defeat at the hands of top-ranked Dayton.
"This was a great early season test," said Lourdes coach Patrick Yannarelli. "We played hard the entire game and had our opportunities to make it a closer game. This allows us to see the areas we need to focus on and get better. We are looking forward to practice tomorrow and working on the areas that need to be addressed as well as continue to practice the areas we are doing well."
Lourdes kept the game close for more than a quarter, trailing just 7-5 at halftime as the Flyers scored the final goal before intermission with just 48 seconds to play. Dayton added the first three goals of the third quarter to increase the advantage to five.
