MCLA Announces Scholar Athletes
ATLANTA – The Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA), the preeminent non-varsity organization in the sport, is proud to announce the Scholar Athlete recipients for the 2016 season. Across the association’s two divisions, 123 players earned Scholar Athlete status.
“Our membership not only takes care of business on the field, but also in the classroom,” said MCLA president Ken Lovic. “These young men who were named to the Scholar Athlete roll are true student-athletes and we are very proud of their accomplishments.”
To qualify for Scholar Athlete recognition, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher while also finding a place on his respective all-conference list. There were 75 selections in Division I and 48 in Division II.
