UA Provides Weekly Award
ATLANTA – The Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA), the preeminent non-varsity league in the country, is pleased to announce that Under Armour will be sponsoring the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour for the second straight season in 2017.
The award will go to an MCLA student-athlete in each division who has stood out with his overall play.
The Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour will be awarded 15 times during the season in each division, starting on Feb. 6 and running through May 15. The recipient of the honor will receive a new Under Armour Command Head, a $90 value, in addition to national recognition.
“We’re thrilled to have Under Armour once again sponsoring our weekly award as it provides well-deserved recognition for our student-athletes,” said MCLA president Ken Lovic. “Receiving a Command Head is not only a reward in itself, but it’s symbolic of an excellent week of work on the field.”
The award will be based on statistical prowess, opponent strength and team success, along with other factors, and will be released on Tuesday of every week. Players will be assessed via the box scores entered on MCLA.us, and only statistics posted prior to noon EST on Mondays will be considered. Coaches may also submit their nomination by the same deadline to [email protected]. Only nominations from coaches will be considered.
