ATLANTA – Kurt Knisely, who was responsible for coaching both the Georgia Tech and University of Georgia men’s lacrosse programs, was inducted into the US Lacrosse Georgia chapter’s Hall of Fame on Sunday, Jan. 29.

Knisely was the first coach of the Georgia Tech program starting in 1972. He then moved on to become the first head coach at Georgia starting in 1978.

He was also instrumental in creating the first post-collegiate lacrosse club in the state of Georgia while also playing a large role in helping the sport begin at the high school level.

Knisely was one of four inductees into the 2017 class of the Georgia chapter’s Hall of Fame.
