Preparation for Nationals Starts
ORANGE, Calif. – With the MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour just four months away, preparations have already commenced at the semifinal and finals site on the campus of Chapman University.
The construction of the new science complex behind the bench side of Ernie Chapman Stadium is progressing (picture above). While the structure won’t be completed for the two days of action in May, it will be close.
“Planning is well under way for the 2017 championships in The OC,” said tournament director Matt Holman. “We had a great meeting with the Chapman University administration and got to check out the progress on the construction adjacent to the stadium field. I love the extra seating. A visit to UC Irvine is planned for later this month.”

This will be the final season that the MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour will be held in Orange County. The 2018 and ’19 editions of the tournament will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah.
