ASU’s Rodgers Nabs Weekly Award
ATLANTA – Leading a potent offensive attack that garnered Arizona State a pair of ranked wins, Sun Devil senior attackman Rhett Rodgers has earned the MCLA Division I Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour for the period ending March 12.
In Friday night’s upset of No. 9 Utah in Salt Lake City, Rodgers struck for five goals in the Sun Devils’ 14-11 victory.
The Scottsdale, Ariz., native followed that up with four goals and an assist against No. 18 UNLV in a key SLC South division road triumph.
"Rhett is finally settling into his groove of being a captain and a player," said Arizona State coach Todd MacRobbie. "He is catching his shooting stroke again and is going to be a player that draws a lot of attention."
For his efforts in earning the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour, Rodgers will receive a new Under Armour Command Head – a $100 value. Under Armour is the proud sponsor of the MCLA.
