receTucker Earns Radio Award
MISSOULA, Mont. – Tucker Sargent, the head men’s lacrosse coach at Montana, earned the E.B. Craney Award given to the best sports coverage statewide at the Montana Broadcasters Association banquet this past weekend.
Sargent, who hosts “Tootell and Tucker” with Ryan Tootell on 102.9 ESPN, received the honor for the second straight year.
They were announced as the winners at the annual MBA event held at the Big Sky Resort.
“It's a ton of fun and there is a very strong and slightly biased amount of coverage of lacrosse,” Sargent said. “But we cover all sports and often other topics as we see fit.”
Tucker, who played for Montana from 2007-09 and has been the head coach since ’10, led the Grizzlies to the MCLA Division II National Championships this past spring after winning the PNCLL title. He was a member of the '07 Montana national championship squad.
Montana finished the season with a 13-6 record.
Tootell, the co-host of the show with Sargent, played MCLA lacrosse at Pacific Lutheran from 2000-04 and was named the PNCLL Defensive Player of the Year in his senior season. Tootell also earned "Broadcaster of the Year" from the MBA.
