Bridgewater Names Tri-Captains
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Ryan Duarte, Joe Marmion and Jacob Fudge have been named captains for the Bridgewater State men's lacrosse program for the 2018 season.
BSU alums and former captains Dan Warren ’98, Matt Strzepka ’96 and Greg Keefe ’03 were on hand to introduce the new captains to the team, parents and alumni.
Duarte, a senior, is a three-year starter at close defense and returns for his third season as a team captain. Duarte was named a first team All-PCLL defenseman in 2017 following an honorable mention All-PCLL selection in 2016. He is a Criminal Justice major.
Marmion, a senior, is a three-year starting goaltender for the team while this is his first season as a captain. Marmion is a two-time MCLA honorable mention All-American, a 2016 MCLA Scholar Athlete, a two-time All-PCLL first team selection, and the 2016 PCLL Defensive Player of the Year. He is a Criminal Justice major.
Fudge, also a senior, has been a three-year contributor running a regular shift in the BSU midfield. This is Fudge’s first selection as a team captain. He is an officer of the BSU men’s lacrosse executive board and is a Business major.
The new captains were announced as a part after the men’s lacrosse alumni game, which is held annually as a part of BSU’s Homecoming and Family Day celebration.
Over 40 alumni came back to take on the current team and to play in the first Alumni vs. Alumni game. The games were dedicated to the memory of two former BSU men’s lacrosse players -- Jesse Andrade and Jason Ratikin -- both of whom passed away in recent months.
