Oregon’s Bailey Has Top Performance
ATLANTA – After guiding Oregon to pair of upsets on the Ducks’ way to a PNCLL Division title and earning a trip to Salt Lake City, senior attackman Cade Bailey earned MCLA Division I Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour for the period ending April 29.
Oregon, seeded third, matched up with second-seeded Washington in the conference semifinals and, thanks to three goals and an assist from Bailey, the Ducks recorded the 14-10 triumph.
In the conference championship game against top-seeded Simon Fraser, the Pleasant Hill, Calif., product dished out four assists as Oregon won, 12-10.
For registering eight points in two games, he was named the PNCLL tournament Most Valuable Player.
“Cade is a dynamic player with one of the best shots I’ve ever seen in the MCLA,” said Oregon coach Markus McCaine. “When he gets hot he can be impossible to stop. It was great to see Cade step up during the biggest weekend of the season.
“He not only put the ball in the net on Saturday, but found open teammates and created turnovers in the ride all weekend. His performance was a big-time effort when we needed it most.”
For his efforts in earning the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour, Bailey will receive a new Under Armour Command Head – a $100 value. Under Armour is the proud sponsor of the MCLA.
