Oregon Tabs Jackson As Head Coach
EUGENE, Ore. -- The University of Oregon is pleased to announce the hiring of Charlie Jackson as the Ducks new head coach starting with the 2018-19 campaign.
"We are extremely excited to bring Charlie on board as our head coach and feel he can turn Oregon into a consistent national contender in the MCLA," said Oregon lacrosse president Sam Snider.
Jackson is no stranger to the MCLA, having coached at both Chico State and most recently at San Diego State.
Jackson went 22-20 from 2010-12 at Chico State, posting an 8-5 record and qualifying for the WCLL playoffs in 2012.
At SDSU from 2013-16, he amassed a 48-21 record, including a 16-5 mark in 2015 that produced the Aztecs only bid to the MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour.
Jackson brings a 70-41 MCLA record to Eugene with just one losing season.
Joining Jackson on this year's staff will be Macon Sumpter, a recent Ducks' graduate, as an assistant coach covering faceoffs. Several new staff hires are expected imminently.
