Boston College Unveils Schedule
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The Boston College men's lacrosse team, the last defending champion of the now defunct Pioneer Collegiate Lacrosse League (PCLL) Division I conference, has moved on to a new challenge.
Or challenges, as the case may be.
The first challenge is entering a new conference -- the Continental Lacrosse Conference (CLC) -- which is a blend of the PCLL and the defunct Central Collegiate Lacrosse Assocation (CCLA). While the Eagles own one of the conference championships, Michigan State -- the defending national champion -- owns the other half.
The second is replacing a massively talented 17-man graduated senior class.
The quest to return to the 2019 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour, which will take place in Salt Lake City from May 6-11, will start with a two-day swing to Athens, Ga., to face national semifinalist South Carolina and host Georgia.
A second trip south in early March will feature contests against Florida, Florida State and Central Florida.
The season will conclude with contests against the four teams in the CLC East division, which will determine who advances to the six-team conference tournament.
