SALT LAKE CITY -- For the third time this season, these Upper Midwest Lacrosse Conference (UMLC) rivals will tangle, but this time there is a berth in the national championship game at stake.

Dayton and North Dakota play in the first semifinal on Thursday with the game starting at 11 a.m. MDT.

The teams first met in Allandale, Mich., on March 30 with John McGovern netting a hat trick to lead Dayton to a 12-6 victory over the Bison. In the rematch in the first round of the UMLC tourney, NDSU rode Anthony Banack's four goals to a 13-6 win.

The rubber match will determine whether the Bison are able to defend their 2018 national championship or if Dayton will seek its second title in the last four years.
