Dominican Releases Spring Slate
SAN RAFAEL, Calif. -- The Dominican men's lacrosse team has announced its schedule for the 2020 campaign. Dominican is moving from the WCLL South to the WCLL North for the 2020 season.
The Penguins will play a 14-game regular season featuring eight opponents ranked in the final 2019 coaches’ poll and four teams that competed at nationals.
The Penguins travel back east for the first time to take on No. 4 Georgia Tech, No. 19 Clemson and MCLA Division II power No. 9 Kennesaw State.
The Penguins open the season with a tough trip to Arizona to take on University of Arizona and Arizona State. They then face Cal Poly before hosting back to back games again Boise State and San Diego State.
Dominican finishes its first month with another home matchup against Oregon State. After the spring break trip, the Penguins take on Utah Valley before entering conference play. The Penguins will end their regular season against conference rival Sonoma State.
“We returned our young core from last year and have a motivated group of underclassmen, plus we feel we upgraded at every position with our freshman class," said Dominican coach Sammy Vogel-Seidenberg. "We have added 10 new players, including a couple of transfer athletes, and I expect us to compete in the WCLL north this year.”
The Penguins are excited about the 2020 season.
