ATLANTA – With the new addition of Georgia to the MCLA Division I New Balance Weekly Coaches poll, the SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference (SELC) now takes up nine of the 25 spots in the poll, which was for the period ending March 2.

South Carolina (9-0) still leads the way at the top of the charts, grabbing 15 of the 23 first-place votes this week.

No. 4 Liberty (5-0), No. 5 (tied) Georgia Tech (7-1), No. 7 Florida State (5-1), No. 14 Virginia Tech (4-0), No. 19 Clemson (4-2), No. 22 Florida (5-2), No. 23 Auburn (6-3) and No. 25 Georgia (4-3) round out the remaining eight.

California (6-0) remained firm in the second spot, seven points behind the Gamecocks. The Golden Bears snagged the remaining eight first-place votes.

Despite a one-goal loss to No. 5 (tied) Chapman (4-2), Cal Poly (7-1) remain lodged in the third chair.

The big mover of the week was Boston College (3-2), which parlayed a one-goal win over Chapman on Monday night into a 10-spot move up the charts to No. 9.

Grand Canyon (1-2) exited the poll this week to make room for Georgia.
