UC Davis’ Antonio is PEARL Goalie
ATLANTA – After leading UC Davis to an impressive win over an MCLA Division I outfit, Aggies’ senior goalie Arthur Antonio earns Division II PEARL Goalie of the Week honors for the period ending March 1.
Matching up on Saturday against Chico State – a team that knocked off Stanford earlier this season – the Mill Valley, Calif., product stood tall.
He made 14 saves (73.7 save percentage), helping the Aggies down the Wildcats, 10-5.
“Arthur once again this weekend showed why he is one of the top goalies in the MCLA with his performance in the cage against Chico,” said UC Davis coach Frank Resetarits. “We ask him to do a lot more than a typical goalie usually has to do, and he answers the call every week.
“On top of his play in the crease, Arthur is a three-year captain who leads by always maintaining his poise on the field and being a great teammate and friend off the field.”
For his efforts in earning the Pearl’s Performance of the Week, Antonio will receive a prize package from Guardian Pearl, a ball that lasts longer than the rest and never greases. Guardian Pearl is the proud partner of the MCLA.
