MCLA Unveils 2021 Champs Logo
ATLANTA – The Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA), the preeminent non-varsity league in the country, is pleased to unveil its championship logo for the 2021 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance.
The event will take place from May 10-15 at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex just outside of Austin.
The logo is the creation of graphic designer Chandler Wescott. A former two-time All-American at Brigham Young, Wescott produced the 2020 championship logo, as well.
“I wanted the logo to really represent the state that the championships is going to be held in,” said Wescott. “Because of these difficult times, I really wanted to convey an idea of strength and resilience through this logo, and that was symbolized through the sharp shield/crest look. Fitting because who is stronger and tougher than Texas?”
The competition in Round Rock will be the MCLA’s fourth championship in the Lone Star state. The 2006 (Plano), 2007 (Frisco) and 2008 (Farmer’s Branch/Irving) were held in the Dallas area.
“I couldn’t be happier with this logo and it comes out at perfect time as we all turn our eyes toward the promise of 2021,” said MCLA president Ken Lovic. “I’m also thrilled that it’s a former MCLA player who is creating such great artwork for us.”
“Hopefully next year’s event will be greater than ever as the lacrosse community bounces back from this year’s unexpected setback,” added Wescott.
