D-I Finals: Tennessee at Boston College
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The hallowed grounds of Gillette Stadium – a venue that has seen plenty of lacrosse championships – will be the site of the 2020 MCLA Virtual National Championship game presented by New Balance.
Why? Well, why not?
Whenever the next global pandemic hits, the No. 32 seed in that virtual tournament will have some big shoes to fill.
Tennessee has set the bar for that seed after its improbable run to the virtual national championship game.
The Volunteers have rolled up Cal Poly, Colorado State, Buffalo and Pittsburgh – an impressive run of victories.
Standing in the way of Tennessee’s championship dreams is No. 11 Boston College.
Unlike the publicity surrounding the Vols’ streak, the Eagles have just kept their head down and ground out the victories. Nothing flashy; just wins.
BC’s run started with Dominican and ran through Southern Methodist, Clemson and Minnesota.
Who has the juice to claim a championship?
It’s going to be fun to find out.
