A&M the Team to Beat in LSA-I

October 28th, 2021 General News | Arkansas | Kansas | LSU | Missouri | Oklahoma | Ole Miss | SMU | Texas A&M | Texas Christian | Texas State | Texas Tech

DALLAS – The Lone Star Alliance (LSA) Division I conference has plenty of contenders, but Texas A&M is the pick to click this spring, according to the preseason coaches poll.

The Aggies won a plurality of first-place votes – four in total – to give them 107 points, pushing them six clear of the field.

With a pair of first-place votes spurring it on, Southern Methodist sits in the second chair, followed by Texas Christian in third. The Horned Frogs also were awarded two first-place votes.

LSU, the reigning LSA Division I champion, set up shop at No. 4, aided by a pair of first-place votes, as well.

Oklahoma, which returns to the LSA this spring after a stint in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference (RMLC), is in the fifth spot. The Sooners grabbed the last first-place vote.

Arkansas and Missouri sit in a tie for sixth while Texas State, Texas Tech, Kansas and newcomer Ole Miss round out the poll.

The LSA will have an automatic qualifying berth to the 2022 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance. The event will be held at the Round Rock (Texas) Multipurpose Complex from May 9-14.
