UC Davis Tops WCLL D-II Poll
SAN FRANCISCO – UC Davis, the defending league champion after winning the conference crown in 2019, has been chosen as the favorite in Division II of the Western Collegiate Lacrosse League (WCLL) for the 2022 campaign.
The Aggies snagged five of the seven first-place votes in the coaches poll to push them eight points clear of the field.
Slotted second is Sierra Nevada, which edged out St. Mary’s by a lone point.
Chico State, which transfers from WCLL Division I this spring, checks in at No. 4, bolstered by a first-place vote.
UC Santa Cruz grabbed the remaining top vote to finish in a tie for fifth with San Jose State while Humboldt State rounds out the seven-team league.
WCLL Division II will have an automatic qualifying berth to the 2022 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance. The event will be held at the Round Rock (Texas) Multipurpose Complex from May 9-14.
