San Marcos Takes SLC-II Trophy

TUCSON, Ariz. – Cal State San Marcos entered the tournament needing the automatic qualifier to get to nationals, and the Cougars pulled it off, downing UC San Diego in the Southwestern Lacrosse Conference (SLC) Division II title game.
San Marcos (8-3) is now qualified for the 2022 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance, which will be held in Round Rock, Texas, from May 9-14.
UC San Diego (11-2) now joins the at-large pool for consideration for nationals. The 16-team field will be announced tonight.
The Cougars jumped out to a 9-4 lead and countered every Triton effort to get back into the game.
