Texas Opens Assistant Search
AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas Men's Lacrosse program is looking for an assistant coach to aid in the building off the success the team experienced last year. Texas is a member of the Lone Star Alliance Division I South which is an MCLA Division I program.
Coming off of the team’s first Lone Star Alliance championship and national tournament bid in 10 years, the expectations are high and the program is looking to hire a new member who brings passion, work-ethic, experience and a desire to help continue building the program.
Job Description
The men’s lacrosse program at Texas is currently accepting applications for the assistant coach position. As the assistant coach, you will play a key role in coaching decisions, player development, and game/practice planning. Duties include assisting in all areas the men’s lacrosse team, including but not limited to:
- Film review and scouting of opponents.
- Attendance at all games and practices.
- Creation and implementation of practice plans and drills.
- Supervise individual player skill development.
- Assist with the preparation and implementation of game strategies.
- Other duties as assigned by the head coach.
Qualifications
Knowledge of MCLA rules and regulations
Prior experience coaching and playing high level collegiate lacrosse is preferred.
Must possess a valid driver’s license; some travel will be required.
This position is a part-time, nine-month position with the possibility of a long term offer based on performance. Additional income opportunities may be possible through local youth teams, camps, and tournaments. Salary: Very Competitive; commensurate with experience.
