ATLANTA – After leading San Diego State to an upset victory in the season opener, Aztec junior attackman Brian Davito is the MCLA Division I Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 4.
Squaring off with No. 13 UC Santa Barbara at home, the Granite Bay, Calif., product made sure that San Diego State was going to start the season with a 1-0 mark for the second-straight year.
He buried a double hat trick against the Gauchos while also chipping in with a pair of assists. Davito factored in on 73 percent of the Aztecs output on the afternoon.
“In early season games when mistakes are expected, you need your veteran leaders to step up,” said San Diego State coach Bryan Bome. “And that’s exactly what Davito did. His dynamic goal-scoring ability allowed us to beat a very good Santa Barbara team.”
For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Davito will receive a Warrior Burn XP2-O – a $120 value. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
