URI’s Reilly Grabs Warrior Accolade
ATLANTA – After eclipsing a scoring milestone while leading Rhode Island to a ranked victory, Rams senior attackman Keegan Reilly has been named the MCLA Division II Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending March 10.
Rhode Island locked horns with Minn.-Duluth on Thursday evening in Kingston and the Cranston, R.I., native buried five goals, leading the Rams to 14-5 victory.
The five markers pushed Reilly past the 100-goal plateau for his career as he now sits at 105.
“It’s easy to tell that Keegan plays a major role in what we do every time you open up the box score,” said Rhode Island coach Charlie White. :But what we're most proud of this season from him is how he has gone from just an All-American level player to an All-American leader.
“He has stepped into that role and really made it a goal of his to create offense for not only himself, but whoever else is on the field with him. The strengths of this year's team start and end with our leadership, and Keegan has embodied what it takes to be a great leader day in and day out.
“So while all anyone else sees is the points he produces, I want it to be known that his impact on our team goes far deeper than that. That's what we need from him and that's exactly what we have gotten from him.”
For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Reilly will receive a Warrior Burn XP2-O – a $120 value. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
