Missouri State Opens Coach Search
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – After six seasons at the helm of the Missouri State men’s lacrosse program, Donnie Curran has announced he will be stepping down. The Bears have opened a search for new coach, effectively immediate (details below).
In his six seasons in Springfield, Curran posted a record of 53-35 with a 7-1 mark in the Lone Star Alliance tournament a 2-7 record at nationals. He has the most wins against Top 25 competition in program history and was the 2023 LSA coach of the year.

Job Description
Missouri State Lacrosse is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as the Club Lacrosse Head Coach. The Head Coach will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of our club's lacrosse program.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs that focus on player skill development, tactical understanding, and physical conditioning.
- Lead and supervise all team practices, scrimmages, and game-day activities.
- Design and execute effective game strategies and provide in-game coaching and adjustments as needed.
- Conduct player evaluations to track progress and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
- Assist in player recruitment efforts and participate in tryouts and roster selection processes.
- Foster a positive team culture built on teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship.
- Maintain open and effective communication with players, assistant coaches, parents, and club administrators.
- Ensure compliance with club, league, and governing body rules and regulations.
- Prioritize player safety by implementing appropriate injury prevention protocols and emergency action plans.
- Manage team logistics, including scheduling, travel arrangements, and budget management.
- Collaborate with other club coaches and staff to support the overall success and growth of the organization.
- Act as a positive role model and mentor for players both on and off the field.
Qualifications
- Previous coaching experience, preferably in lacrosse at the club, high school, or collegiate level.
- Deep knowledge of lacrosse fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate players.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to player development, sportsmanship, and character-building.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate practice and game schedules.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Donnie Curran brings 15 years of experience to the role and is excited to pass on his knowledge and expertise to the next generation of lacrosse coaches.
