MCLA Announces 2019 Scholar Athletes

ATLANTA – The Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association, the preeminent non-varsity league in the country, has announced its Scholar Athletes for the 2019 season and 142 student-athletes from two divisions have earned the prestigious accolade.

“Maintaining excellence on the field and in the classroom is a formidable challenge for college student-athletes,” said MCLA president Ken Lovic. “It goes without saying how proud I am of these players for representing our organization on campus in such a positive manner.”

To earn Scholar Athlete status a student-athlete must appear on an all-conference team while also maintaining a grade point average of 3.2.

California, the runner-up at the 2019 MCLA National Championships, led the nation with 10 Scholar Athlete selections. Cal Poly and Washington each posted student-athletes to the Scholar Athlete roll.
