ATLANTA, Georgia- The Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) had their annual Winter Meeting on Sunday January 4.  There were two primary discussions: a presidential election and discussion regarding a fifth year of eligibility.

Current president Ken Lovic who has held the role since 2013 was re-elected as president.  The next term will begin in August of 2026 and will run for three years.

The MCLA Board of Directors also voted to allow for a fifth year of eligibility for players.  A subcommittee will be established that will determine the details of how the new policy will roll out in 2027  and those details will be published in May 2026.

“As a league, we have always looked to evolve and adapt as necessary.  This is something league membership wanted to enact and we were able to vote on it and move swiftly.  This will be a big change to our league, but will offer further opportunities for MCLA athletes,” MCLA President Ken Lovic said.
