SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - Sierra Nevada traveled to UC Santa Cruz to take on the Banana Slugs in WCLL play on Saturday. After a scoreless first quarter, the Eagle offense hit its stride, netting four goals by halftime. The Eagle defense was stellar, only allowing one goal on the day. SNC stood victorious, 8-1 at the final whistle.

Leading the Sierra Nevada offense was midfielder Dylan Fangmeier, who accounted for three goals and an assist. Also getting on the board were Kyle Rockwell, Jacob Dubyak, Jake McIntyre and Bret Ungari. Long-stick midfielder Jack Witt continues to be a dominating force between the lines, accounting for a goal and eight ground balls.

"The backbone of our team continues to be our defense. When you know that an opponent is going to have a difficult time scoring, it relieves a lot of the pressure on the other side of the ball," said Eagle coach Matt Blamey. "Eight road games in one month is a grueling task. We have been asking a lot of our team. I couldn't be more proud of how our guys pushed through the challenge."

Next up is No. 24 UC Davis, which will travel to Tahoe to take on the No. 12 Eagles. Both teams come into the game undefeated in the WCLL. Faceoff is scheduled for Saturday, April 2 at 1 p.m.
