ATLANTA – With a dominating performance at the faceoff dot over the weekend, St. Thomas sophomore draw man Hunter Dalum earns MCLA Division II Warrior Player of the Week honors for the period ending Feb. 23.

The Tommies opened play in Minot, N.D., against Montana and the Buffalo, Minn., product won 15 of the 19 (78.9 percent) faceoffs he took against the Grizzlies, helping St. Thomas post the 18-8 triumph. Dalum also chipped in with a pair of assists.

St. Thomas capped the weekend with a rematch of the title game of the 2024 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance against Montana State. Dalum made sure the outcome was different this time by winning 19-of-31 (61.3 percent) of his draws in the 16-11 victory. He bolstered the offense with a goal and an assist, as well.

For the weekend, Dalum won 68 percent of his faceoffs along with a goal and three dimes.

“Hunter has improved immensely from this time last year,” said St. Thomas faceoff coach Ben Campbell. “He puts the work in on and off the field. There is not a day that goes by that he is not watching film, in the weight room or getting reps in on the field.

“His hard work behind the scenes paid off tremendously this weekend.”

For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Dalum will receive a Warrior Burn Formula – a $120 value. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
